The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple is one of the four Inns of Court, exclusively entitled to Call their members to the Bar of England and Wales. We provide support, education and accomodation to barristers at every stage of their careers. Middle Temple Hall, Bench apartments, and Middle Temple Library will be open to the public on Sunday 13 September from 12-4pm. Last entry is at 3.45pm.

Architect G.E Street's iconic masterpiece set in the heart of London and one of Victorian England's great public buildings. 13th Century Gothic style given a Victorian interpretation. Commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1870 's to build the home for Civil Justice for the United Kingdom. The cathedral-like Magnificent Great Hall leads off to Historic Oak Panelled Courtrooms.

Lincoln’s Inn is an Inn of Court and has been an association of barristers and judges for over 600 years. Usually closed to the public, the buildings within this tranquil 11-acre estate include Grade I and II listed gems (mediaeval, Victorian and Georgian architecture) with banqueting halls, a law library, a chapel, and a modern state-of-the-art teaching space.

A Church of Scotland in London, home to the longest-established Presbyterian congregation in London, worshipping in this location in Covent Garden since 1719. The current building is red brick with Portland stone dressings in a restrained, finely crafted Free Style. Three storeys, recessed slated attic, mullioned and transomed windows. Fine stained glass, most of which is by Farrar Bell.

Fine example of an early 5-floor Queen Anne town house with original panelling, open staircase and unique 'swinging panels' on the open-plan first floor. Johnson compiled his famous 'Dictionary of the English Language' (1755) here.

The tour charts the evolution of Covent Garden, incorporating the piazza, the wholesale produce market, social residential areas and supporting neighbourhoods, and highlighting the social and commercial highs, lows and challenges. Barnard's Inn in Holborn dates back to the mid-13th century. It is now the home of Gresham College which has been providing free public lectures since 1597. Over the centuries it has been a law school and home to the Mercers' School. Notable architectural elements include 15th-century wooden bays, 16th-century linen fold wood panelling, and has the only surviving crown posts in Greater London.

HQ of professional and examining body for UK optometrists occupying two terraced houses, No. 41 (Flitcroft c1730 with later additions) and No. 42 (rebuilt by Tarmac plc, c1989 with rear extension over the former back yard) including Council Chamber, Georgian-style print room, modern meeting spaces, recording studio, academic library and refurbished museum.

Henry Flitcroft, 1730

Three centuries of Quakers in Westminster. Opened in 1883, with front doors added in the 1920s. It was bomb-damaged in 1941 and rebuilt in 1956. Grade II listed registered place of worship, it contains a peaceful meeting room and 1950s wood panelling and fittings.
