Home to the oldest geological society in the world, founded in 1807. The Society has been based at Burlington House since 1874, and now has over 12,000 members worldwide.

The Royal Astronomical Society (RAS) moved into Burlington House in 1874. Part of the extension to Burlington House, to provide accommodation for learned societies, the building was refurbished in 2007. The RAS is the oldest astronomical society in the world and has been encouraging and promoting the study of astronomy and geophysics since 1820.

A guided walk looking at the building materials that built a city. The 90 minute tour around Piccadilly looks at the various rocks that have been used to face the buildings. The tour uncovers the history and geology behind the key building materials of London. The tour is lead by Dr Stephen King, a qualified Westminster tour guide and geologist.

A spectacular Grade I listed building designed by famed architect John Nash. Built in 1831, these former townhouses have undergone refurbishments throughout their history. The building is now home to the UK's national science academy.

The Smallest Gallery in Soho is a historic shop-front which faces onto 62 Dean Street, in the heart of Soho. The aim of this creative space is to display artwork that captures people’s attention on their journey through Soho and encourage them to stop, think and be inspired. The art displays are only to be viewed from the street and can be seen at any time of the day for free.

Architecture studio Klaud leads a tour of the Soho Photography Quarter and The Photographers’ Gallery’s refurbished ground floor, redesigned to connect with this new public space, which features a 45m ‘Artfrieze’ at the heart of a curated public art programme. They are joined by Clare Grafik, Head of Exhibitions at The Photographers’ Gallery, who will present this year’s public space commission.

Three centuries of Quakers in Westminster. Opened in 1883, with front doors added in the 1920s. It was bomb-damaged in 1941 and rebuilt in 1956. Grade II listed registered place of worship, it contains a peaceful meeting room and 1950s wood panelling and fittings.

HQ of professional and examining body for UK optometrists occupying two terraced houses, No. 41 (Flitcroft c1730 with later additions) and No. 42 (rebuilt by Tarmac plc, c1989 with rear extension over the former back yard) including Council Chamber, Georgian-style print room, modern meeting spaces, recording studio, academic library and refurbished museum.
